I have done the test and passed, drug test, back ground check and my driving record release but have yet to hear about an interview. Is this normal?

  • If they call you you accumulated a higher chore than average

  • I had a interview first then weeks later got a email asking do I accept city carrier. I replied I Accept. Took my drug test and followed all the steps it been a month an haven't heard anything. I don't do drugs nor do I take any prescription drugs.

  • Everyone is different depending on where you live. I have heard so many different situations but typical you put in application then get asked to go take a pre-test at a testing office then depending whether you pass or fail you should get an invitation for an interview which takes weeks then after your interview you wait and wait and wait anywhere from weeks to months then if accepted you will get an offer confirming you have been selected after accepting you will get a numerous number of emails with your drug test and background check information once you complete all those and go to a facility to drug test you once again wait then upon passing all the expected tests you will get another email for processing where you take fingerprints and get your orientation date... And remember all these steps take time and there's weeks where you will wait and it gets discouraging but hang in there if it's meant to be you will get it... Good luck

  • Yes, it takes them forever to follow up. Just make sure that you are checking your email and junk folders but also constantly applying to other positions. You may want to call the postmaster or supervisor to follow up as well.

  • I do not believe this is normal. They called me back pretty quickly.

  • Yes. It does take a little time before you get called. I gave them one week before I started calling myself, and demanding to speak with a supervisor. Once i spoke with one, I asked if she would like to meet to discuss my career with the postal service,..and now i work for them.

  • Yes they will need to get to your name on the hiring list

  • Yes. I applied for a position, took the test and almost immediately after passing got all of the information to do a drug test and background in December 2015. I did not get a call for an interview until February. Once I did the interview I was told that I was being recommended to be hired. I received a conditional offer within a week, but nothing formal from them for almost a month.

  • For me it was. I took my test back in November but didn't hear from them again until January about a drug test. By then I had applied for 3 more positions in the post office. After I took the drug test my next email came for an interview but it wasn't for the same location I took the drug test for. Needless to say I got hired it took about 2 months for them to contact me about an interview after the drug test.
