If there is a opening position you really want you can apply for it.

I have applied for usps in the past many times before. I’ve done a background with his a few times I applied. But was never selected for a position. Well this time I applied for a pse position on 7/16/19 and received a call on 7/19 to interview in person on 7/22. Well I haven’t received any emails for a background or drug test? Just curious because I scored a 98 on the 477 exam and my interview went great. My past job experiences definitely matches well with the job. The PM said I should expect an email in 3 days. Just wondering what to expect because like I said I haven’t received emails for background check or drug test. Plus on the usps login site it says pre hire list in process.

Depends on the position for which you are applying. Rural Carrier Associates (RCAs) are currently invited to apply to the office location of their choice and cannot be made to work other offices. Clerks can be made to travel up to 50 miles to work at other offices in need of help. I believe Supervisors and Postmasters can also be required, maybe asked, to travel to other offices to fill in.

A long time. I think I waited nearly a month. You have to take a drug test and a background check. Relax. They'll give you a date.

I attended the group interview and a day after my status changed from pre-hiring list to hiring list. I had my driving and background check and cleared prior to the interview but, still waiting for the drug test.

It varies from PO to PO. You don't necessarily receive anything immediately after. I interviewed at end of April and didn't receive anything until end of June. Therefore, yes, this is normal!
