My fiance went through the entire process. He had his drug screen & background check done about a week ago & his application status still reads "processing". He's becoming very discouraged (already lol) because he just KNEW he had the job since he got the e-mail to go take the drug screen. How much longer should this process take?

I took the drug test on a Tuesday, the next day I had to go down to the post office and do fingerprints and fill a few forms out. Took only 25 minutes. That was Wednesday and then on Friday around 1:30 pm received an email stating that I had been appointed to city carrier with the usps at this branch and the rest of the email consisted of dates and times for my orientation and driving defense class and the 4 day academy. At the end they wished me success in my new job

Depends on how many people their are hiring. Cities are part of Districts, and district personnel do the hiring for all their assigned cities and all facilities in those cities. They are juggling applicants for all available positions, testings, interviews, BG checks, trainings etc.. They schedule group events, and try to get as many together as they can, by the position they’re being considered for. This can take extra time. Be patient. We have over 150 zip codes in our District, that’s a lot of positions to fill

I received the email to take the drug test in Feb 2018. I did not start training until the end of April. It was almost 3 months before I started working at the etown post office (middle of May). Definitely do not worry if you don't receive anything for a few weeks. Human resources takes their sweet time to set up everything and the training sessions.

Drug testing results are report on the same day. Background check results for criminal convictions are about five to seven business days. Call or email the background check company for status after one week. Call your human resources interviewer recruiter. You should get a job offer email to accept or decline after this process is completed.
