I absolutely hate it! After 20+ years in the postal service, I have never disliked my job this much. It’s physically and mentally draining, from some of the coworkers, to the supervisors/management, to the awful and all consuming work hours and schedules. I would never recommend this company to anyone. I absolutely hate it!

Answered

I would have been regular years ago, but lazy, retirement-mode postmaster won't discipline the losers needing fired.

Lost cause. USPS began serious downward spiral with advent of CCAs. Lackadaisical and who gives a shoot attitude is hard to overcome. Couple that with with unqualified, unprofessional management/supervision—losing battle.

It depends on which district or state you are working in .. some states will enforce fair employment laws and others take mistreatment to the edge without regard to maintaining a safe work environment. The postal service workers union bargaining agreement affects how much members are paid, when and how they are employed. I was paid more as a seasonal in another state 10 years ago than this year in my current state. It's a job for the same organization but local districts that are not concerned about fair treatment and who are motivated by pure greed for themselves and a budget plan, will offer only minimum pay/work schedules.

Don't feel discouraged. Depending on what locations you've applied to it may take longer for USPS to contact you. Just keep checking your profile and email. Check spam, too. Apply to all positions in your area that you are qualified for and can get to easily. You can use the same application for all of them. Hope this helps!
