As a carrier in postal service we should to be ready to work 7 days a week more than 10 hours a day, some week we do not have a day off, some week we receive a phone call in our day off to go to work. Postal service is the most stress full place. The job is mostly psychical job. It's hard but at the same time is fun too. Few hours we are working in the office and few hours we are in street.

Supervisors can mucro-manage on certain shifts

Night shift was great nice quiet environment to work. If you did your job well you were left alone. As the plant got bigger, management became way more bothersome.

Good but lots of micromanaging

Managers stay breathing down your neck however the pay is indeed excellent and the benefits for the work that is required is reasonable to me in my opinion

Challenging

My experience with the USPS was very challenging. I started working delivering mail at the beginning of the holiday season and winter. Being out in the cold for 10 hours was brutal. I knew it was a good job, but my commute to and from work was over an hour and I had little time to myself before I had to do it all over again.

Pros

Good pay

Cons

Being out in the elements.

Self reliant job, physically demanding

Don’t go into this thinking you’ll just be driving a mail truck and delivering, there’s more to it. You’ll be casing and sorting your mail and packages, loading your vehicle (which will sometimes be your personal car) with a large load and then delivering. It’s not hard, but it is physically demanding. Daily load varies, but you’ll almost always end up with a full vehicle of mail and packages. Delivery is, obviously, rain, sleet, snow, shine or extreme temperatures. The mail has to be delivered. Also, expect to work every single Sunday. No mail, but you will be delivering Amazon packages. Pros - self reliant and work mostly alone, there’s always workCons- physically demanding, ie, lots of heavy lifting, inconsistent scheduling, no Sundays off

Dilbert principal In action.

Only the most incompetent are promoted to management. Im sure you can picture how that works out. Completely unqualified people making poor decisions .

Ok work

Good money no work life While there is some training to work as a mail carrier, a college degree isn't typically a requirement. This can be a good option for those who don't want to attend college and don't want to take on student loans. The requirements to work as a mail carrier typically include a high school diploma or GED and even those with limited work experience are eligible to apply.

Formal and determined tasking of postal items

It is a regularly routed, scheduled, or run day that must get completed, or an altered day of coverage to complete. The one thing that is definitely learned is continuity. Management can systematically organize production metrics based upon the accessible personnel. The hardest part for most employees is ritual habit. The most enjoyable is learning how to function under a ritual habit.

Pros

Pre-ordained work life.

Cons

Pre-ordained work life.

Probably the worst job ive ever had

From day 1 nothing made any sense and was completely confusing and overcomplicated. The management was the worst ive ever seen. They would blow up your phone so much that it's borderline harrasment. I didnt feel secure at all there and if you get a secondary job on the side you will be late for every shift there or not able to show up there. Almost nothing was properly taught to me or explained to me but then they would get mad about things they never even told me. After gas expenses you really dont make that much money. If you want to deal with the chaos for years to move up then you may make good money. I couldnt stand another second in that place though. Its literally a circus

Pros

Decent hourly pay and hours

Cons

Unorganized, overcomplicated, worst management, stressful

Not bad place work

Great work and pay just a bit too many hours . You have to get on restrictions to have a normal life.Tried to transfer but had to wait almost 2 years just to even hear back .

Learning to be enfolded.

A typical day working at the post office for me would be smooth. I carried the overnight shift with a group of employees. It was a great learning experience hince the environment and working process. I learned to stay focuse, management wasn’t the best. It’s a real overwhelming job but if you put your feelings to the side and stay focused it’s a real good experience. The hardest part of the job would be dealing with “drama” every single day. And when it’s through management too that’s walhst makes it even more chaotic. But like I said being FOCUSED would be the most enjoyable part of the job. That’s really all there is to it.

Pros

Good pay, easy work

Cons

Dedicating all of your time

Bad

I recently had the privilege of working as a Rural Carrier at the Post Office, and I must say it has been an incredibly rewarding experience. From the moment I joined the team, I was impressed by the professionalism, efficiency, and commitment to service that defines the organization. One of the standout aspects of my time as a Rural Carrier was the sense of camaraderie among colleagues. The teamwork and support I received from fellow carriers, supervisors, and office staff were truly exceptional. It created a positive work environment that made each day enjoyable and fulfilling. The training provided by the Post Office was comprehensive and well-structured. I felt adequately prepared for the challenges of the job, and the ongoing learning opportunities ensured that I continued to grow in my role. The emphasis on safety protocols and adherence to delivery standards highlighted the organization's commitment to excellence. As a Rural Carrier, I had the chance to interact with the community daily. Building relationships with the residents on my route was one of the most gratifying aspects of the job. Their appreciation for the reliable and timely service the Post Office provides was evident, and it reinforced the importance of our role in connecting people and delivering essential mail. The organization's dedication to innovation also impressed me. The adoption of new technologies and streamlined processes showcased a commitment to staying ahead in an ever-evolving industry. It not only enhanced efficiency but also made the job more

Important Work

o As a CCA the route may change based on the needs of the Office. The Manager insures that you are given the most up to date information of the route.o I learned how to perform the duties of the job and how to request and use teamwork at a different level.o I worked in Lansing and I think the strongest link were the managers at the Delta, the Main, Southwest, East Lansing and others. o The Post Office is very diverse which gives a tremendous experience, especially for new Carriers.o Paying attention, and learning the classes of mail and being attentive to customer changes. Nothing is hard. The carrier has to be committed.o Knowing the route and returning without mail or knowing where to file undelivered mail. When the Manager says good job. My opinion is that the managers I worked under were very good and the Season Carriers were very informative. Very good job.

Pros

Teamwork, Professionalism

Cons

Some late evenings. There are scheduled days off.
