With the change in upper management, the amount of red tape increased to the point that major decisions take an extremely excessive amount of time to make. Senior leadership does not trust their front-line managers to make organizational and operational decisions they were hired to make.
Internal promotions are few and far between, resulting in external hires that are brough in at a higher salary than peers in the same department. Employees talk, so this information gets out, creating a morale issue.
The company stresses importance on safety, but there have been many instances where employees were acting in a careless fashion, without regards to safety initiatives, and they were allowed to stay with the company because managers don't have the time or desire to hire and train new employees.
