Customer Service (Former Employee) –  Phoenix, AZJune 12, 2018
If you need a job to bridge you to another place, this may be a useful option for short term employment. This company has a revolving door culture. You will not receive any reviews that pertain to possible job advancement, career development or increase in pay. For the most loyal and hard working employees, your voice is worth nothing to the leaders of this company. There is zero concern for developing talent and retaining employees. Don't consider long term unless you want to commit carer suicide.
Pros
You will collect a paycheck and have some health benefits.

High Stress job
Employment Verification Specialist (Former Employee) –  Trinity, FLMarch 7, 2018
There is no tolerance for absences, even excused . They will still let you go. High turnover rate, management and leads don't have it together , no one follows policy, policies change , so no one is on the same page. Was promised to go into the field that I have years of experience, but it never happened.
Pros
friendly co-workers
Cons
the workload, mandatory overtime, poor management, company policies constantly changing, no room for advancement, lack of respect and empathy from management.

Low standard job with no room to advance
Data Entry / Account implementation Specialist (Former Employee) –  Phoenix, AZJanuary 2, 2018
This was one of the worst places I've worked at. Management here is poor and if you are looking for a job with no potential this is your place! There is no motivation here and a ton of negativity People talk about you whether you're doing good or bad there is no winning here with the workers or management. Not to mention the turn over rate is high and when someone quits you get their work piled on top of yours. I would never recommend this job.

This job starts our great. However, they do not allow you to be excused from work under any circumstances. If you have children, sick relatives, doctors appointments to attend, don't bother with this job. They expect you there everyday for over 8 hours day at the exact times doctor's offices are open. Miss one day of work in your first 90 days and you have to start over again.
Pros
Good pay

Overtime, too much work, no excused absences

Stressful job with required overtime
Verification Specialist (Former Employee) –  Phoenix, AZJuly 27, 2017
This was my first time working at an outbound call center. I had previously worked at an inbound call center so I assumed the job structure would be similar, but that wasn't quite the case.

You are loaded with calls to make for the entire day and you HAVE to make contact with someone or provide data that you tried for every single customer file. Every time you finish a verification you have to make sure everything is notated PERFECTLY (including grammar/spelling), or else the auditors will send it back for you to correct, adding to the work you still have to complete. Not to mention, if you try to contact someone and notate it, they can send it back and tell you to try again.

You will get a good portion of the work you've already completed sent back to you for correction or to retry and you sometimes get sent other people's work if they leave early and that is ALL while taking inbound callbacks from people that got left messages... and these calls can be for verifications that you are working on, or they can be calls for ones other people are working on, which further slows you down and adds to your work load, AND you are not allowed to leave until your personal queue is emptied for the day, so you are often forced to stay past your shift to finish.

And if all that isn't bad enough, you are often REQUIRED to stay for overtime if the company gets a lot of verification orders. There were times that we had to stay for mandatory OT for several weeks at a time. They would offer gift card drawings as incentives to keep us "happy" but it wasn't really worth it.

On
more... top of all of that, we were encouraged not to talk to each other so that there are no distractions from your job duties, so it often felt depressing to be stuck in your cubicle, working virtually non-stop with OT and not being able to have any social interaction. $11.25/hour was not worth any of that.  less
Pros
Sometimes you might recieve an incentive for working OT
Cons
no social interactions, madatory OT, stressful!!

I absolutely love working for Universal Background Screening. I have learned a lot about hiring processes, computer work, and how to speak with confidence. I would definitely recommend it to someone if they were looking for a good place of job security, though advancement is few and in between.
Pros
Job Security, Paid Time Off, Full Benefits

Great place to work at outside of the pay
Background Screener (Former Employee) –  New Port Richey, FLMarch 1, 2017
Universal Background Screening is a great place to work. The supervisors are amazing! The work schedule is great as well. Paid holidays and able to accrue PTO. I loved working here but the pay is not good. You can't pay bills if you are single on $11 an hour. Outside of the pay, I would recommend this place!

Your average 9-5 office environment. Not very many people stick around, but those that do are usually moved up onto a higher position with higher pay.

The office is very friendly with strong policy.
Verification Specialist (Former Employee) –  Phoenix, AZApril 30, 2016
Standards always had to be met otherwise the job was threatened. Often times there were office events and catering. The biggest down fall, there was a great deal of favoritism and friendship. When people who were close to the manager often got away with various mistakes and were not disciplined for their actions. There were two pregnant women in the same office and instead of having a baby shower for both women they only did the party for one; even the the woman they chose to throw the party for was due after the girl who needed it most. The offices were always under constant reconstruction in attempts to make more space and people were constantly being moved cubicles. Often times the office was short staffed and the work load was so heavy that mandatory overtime was required. When on person was gone the work load literally doubled. The managers and supervisors were always busy socializing with each other and were hardly ever available in times of crisis. Often times it called for personal decision making when conflict arose and suffering the consequences afterwards. There was a vast amount of inappropriate work place conversation and often times people showed up to work under the influence.
Pros
Two 15 min paid breaks, one 30 min lunch.
Cons
Management was not helpful and people were always often lacking in their share of work, which was given to others before the end of the day.

A Dead End Job
Account Executive (Former Employee) –  Northridge, CASeptember 11, 2015
This company burns the life out of you. They sell you a good story in the interview and then it's a "sink or swim" atmosphere. I have more than 15 years of sales experience and even I felt like a fish out of water! They barely train you on the industry and then throw you out in the field with little assistance.

Terrible
Court Research Specialist (Former Employee) –  Phoenix, AZJune 17, 2015
Their procedures are very poor and executed terribly. They have unrealistic goals set that cannot be met everyday and when they are not met you are told to work harder and more accurately. The company is focused on ethics since you are handling very confidential information yet they are consistently 'bending' the rules in their favor to get things done. Was told that the position would barely make any phone calls, ended up making 10-20 calls a day to very rude courthouses. Constantly in 'Mandatory Overtime' which involved working weekends, then had to earn having weekends off. NO opportunity for advancement at all. They will say they are growing (which is true) but there is only one position to move to and then that is it. No annual pay raises or anything. Don't get sick or have absolutely anything happen within the first 90 days or you will get fired or have to fight HR for your job.
Pros
Some coworkers
Cons
Constant overtime, management has no idea what they are doing, try to reward you by giving you weekends off even though you are supposed to have them off.
