Very busy yet exciting work place with an exciting experience with hands on field technical work and contact with experienced contractors.
GEOTECHNICAL FIELD TECHNICIAN (Former Employee) – Norcross, GA – October 4, 2013
-A typical day at work would be starting off heading to a job site to inspect and test soil compaction, density testing, casting concrete cylinder samples for laboratory testing, and/ or laboratory testing for different construction projects.
-Learned how to perform DCP's Hand augers, proctors, concrete sampling & air testing, density testing, laboratory and field technician work.
-The management was well organized, and direct with the work assignments.
-Co-workers were friendly and willing to help teach things that you are not familiar with.
-The hardest part of the job was the driving. Sometimes you get stuck in track and that could cause you to be late to a job site, but the overall driving was good.
-The most enjoyable part of the job was the hands on experience in the field and having first hand contact with other contractors to figure out the best possible solutions to building on different job sites. Also being able to apply the knowledge taught by the UES company in the actual field.
