A good company with good benefits lacking job flow support from management
A typical day at work included getting work orders, communicating with fork lift driver to get material, setting up job order parameters on my saw and, then running lumber through the machine. After cutting the lumber I would either supply the next work station immediately or stack lumber on carts according to next steps in job.
I learned how to - more... organize and prioritize materials and work orders according to job load. I learned how to operate the pop-up saw and other machines required for my work.
Management was very good when I started. They would come onto the floor at regular intervals ... - less
ProsGood pay and benefits, regular safety lunches
ConsLack of support from management on improving job flow efficiency
