Great Company!
Senior Accountant (Current Employee) - Mechanicsburg, PA - January 27, 2021
I really enjoy working at UPPI, every day is different and challenging. This small locally owned manufacturing company is intent on employing local workers and keeping jobs here is America. Management is very involved in day to day activities, and is very supportive. I definitely recommend working for UPPI.
Pros
Pay day lunches every other Friday for all shifts, supportive management and training program, opportunity for advancement

Great place to work
Accounting (Current Employee) - Mechanicsburg, PA - December 29, 2020
I see a lot of the old ratings for UPPI on here, so I wanted to post a new positive rating. This is a great locally owned and operated company, keeping production jobs in America. The owners care about what they do and who they employ, providing steady work and a supportive management team. It is a fast paced environment, every day is different, so it keeps things fresh and interesting. I definitely recommend working for UPPI!

Don’t waste your time
Machine Operator (Former Employee) - Mechanicsburg, PA - January 6, 2020
If you want to go to work to be criticized everyday this is the place. Random lay offs, terrible management, the attendance policy is awful, write ups and suspensions for things they can’t provide proof
Pros
Weekends off
Cons
Sadly everything

Management
Picker/Packer (Former Employee) - Mechanicsburg, pa - September 6, 2018
The worst place to work for. Please dont go this route with your career. You can wake up one day and after a full nights work they call you over the phone and tell the whole shift not to come back to work. This company have no clue how to run a company. It's like a revolving door.
Pros
There was no pros
Cons
Everything you can think of thats bad. They are it.

Jobs at Universal Protective Packaging
Many years since employment there
Receptionist/Accounting/Shipping Clerk (Former Employee) - Mechanicsburg, PA 17050 - March 20, 2018
Many years since employment at UPPI. Remember fellow employees being pleasant as a whole and compensation being adequate for position held. Opportunity for advancement was available to those interested.

Fast paced and never satisfied
MANAGER/QUALITY TECHNICIAN (Former Employee) - Mechanicsburg, PA - February 20, 2017
This is a very fast paced job and even if you live up to the goals that they set, they still won't be satisfied. They will just change the goals and make them harder to achieve until they aren't achievable anymore. They expect you to get the job done without them providing help to the production team at all. Very frustrating to have to always be the one to make adjustments to satisfy upper management without upper management offering to help.

Great Company
Fork lift operator (Former Employee) - Mechanicsburg, PA - April 16, 2016
Personally, I really enjoyed working at Universal Protective Packaging, Inc. The work could get very tedious, but there was room for advancement. Typically day-to-day activities varied with orders, so things were constantly different. Different managers had differing outcomes with employees. Certain managers were uncooperative and did not receive positive results from their employees, however, when good management was displaced it was easy to get a job done.
Pros
Room for advancement
Cons
tedious work

Owners are awful. Horribly managed. Treated poorly. Low pay with slim chance of raise.
Packer, Machine Operator (Former Employee) - Mechanicsburg, PA - October 8, 2015
Nobody works hard most of the employees are on work release from jail and don't want to be there or work hard. Constantly get bitched at nothing is ever good enough you could put up the best production numbers every night and nobody recognizes you for it. The pay is ok starting out but you don't get raises instead of getting rewarded for your hard work they use the raise money to make they're warehouse look nicer I got 1 raise in three years it was .30 and that was on the higher raise side. Turnover rate is insane I worked there for 3 years and saw at least 500 people come and go nobody wants to stay. Warehouse is extremely hot in summer and extremely cold in winter. Poorly managed just in general like it just seems overly not legit workplace like everyone just does what they want there is no control machine operators are getting high on lunch everyone's poorly trained its just all around a fast paced, terrible place to work where everyday you will be told how replaceable you are.
Pros
Paid lunches/ job is pretty easy once you get used to it
Cons
terrible owners, managment, coworkers/ Low pay/Treated poorly
