Working in a hospital you anticipate that you could be needed at a moment's notice at any time of the day, but it can become difficult to endure at times when you are contacted even when not on call more often than not. This makes it very difficult to enjoy your time away from work. Most of this was due to management not reprimanding staff that abused - more ... the on call schedules. To add to this, there was no real career path, most people pretty much stayed in the role they were in with no real chance to advance their title or their pay. - less
