Don't be afraid to ask questions and watch what u say there and online when they say nothing media they also mean UH's website as well, because once u do they fire you without u explaining anything, so basically u do not have a voice while u work there, they even watch your page! So ask to make sure!

Short staff all the time, nurse not all think all their for is passing medicine, calls for the PCA's when a patient needs something while they r in the room and the PCA is with another patient, instead of taking care of the needs while in the room of the patient they call the PCA to come take care of it, they remind you that is what u are there for and it's the PCA's job all the while now sitting at the nurses station talking with other staff.. and remember short staffed a lot and the PCA's run just about the whole shift! Then there is the Doctor's, I have nothing but the up most respect for them, however, their foreign language is broken to where patients and staff alike have a hard time understanding them along with nurses that speak a foreign language, I usually just keep.going but over the years I worked for UH I had patient ask what the Doctor or Nurse said because they didn't understand them with the broken English, it's a shame they couldn't understand their Doctor/Nurse about their care and Health, I feel.they have every right to practice anywhere they like, but need to learn English a little better in order to explain to their patients their plan of care and their health issues! I was fired for congratulating a new Doctor ( another foreign Doctor) and stated it would be good to have a few Doctor's that spoke English to help with patient/staff understanding of Care and Health in English speaking patients.. I did put it on the website of UH but when the person watching the site seen it I was suspended then terminated and I never had a voice to explain myself, I may have done it in the wrong place but at the time I was speaking on my own experience with a foreign speaking Doctor... I never got to explain anything and with my time with UH I never was written up, always at work, and went above and beyond duty and to be treated as I was really says a lot about the upper management, they got rid of a hard working person and up coming Nurse that really looked forward to practicing at UH.. The way this situation was very stressful among all the other things I listed, but I wanted to make a difference and stayed because I Love University Health Care and I still hurt over the situation after 2.5 yrs.
