Variable by department
Groundskeeper (Former Employee) –  Statesboro, GAJune 7, 2017
Georgia Southern University is an exceptionally reliable employer. Georgia Southern has outstanding retirement, medical, vision, and dental benefits, and offers very fair wages. Job culture, management style, and work/life balance vary widely by department as a result of the disparate functions which each department serves.
Pros
benefits package, job security, educational opportunity

Not all departments are made equal
IT Manager (Former Employee) –  Atlanta, GAApril 17, 2017
Tons of work to be done and not enough budget to go around. Cyclical process of overworked and underpaid. There are some fun opportunities to engage with campus activity but overall departments are singular vessels so some succeed while others struggle.
Pros
campus life, crossover work
Cons
no work/life balance, busy semester schedules
