Balanced work life

Indeed Featured review

Flexible schedule and good management. Lots of holiday time off. Holiday pay available for necessary staff that is double time and a half. Pay raises given each year.

Mentally draining

The WOW program had wonderful intentions, but was seriously understaffed and staff was underpaid. Students in the program needed more help than staff could provide.

Extremely low pay

Extremely low pay, admin does not care about instructors or students. Students need more support and access to remedial classes. Our department hasn't seen a pay increase since the 1980s.

High demand carrot 🥕 dangling for more output

No opportunities for career advancement. Cliques and Brown nosing abound. Promises of promotion but only dangles carrots in false hopes of more work, more responsibilities and meager incremental raises.

Excellent university to work for

Always felt supported, management was great. They were very open to improving the way of doing things and regularly asked about employee opinions. I had no complaints while there.

Long, Boring, Standing Hours

There was a lot of necessary information left out of the application and interview process. The coworkers I had were all very nice people and easy to get along with. However, the work becomes very monotonous after a few short days. By the end of each 6-8 hour shift you would rather do anything else for $12/hour.

A place that used to be much nicer.

What is the best part of working at the company? The liberty and the trust that management used to give to cover your bases. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? The pace can be challenging as Move-In is our two week long national championship game but over all satisfying. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? It used to be one of high trust and respect to the respective jobs of everyone. Though things changed and they became more of a 'my position dictates my authority' type of culture. So you're looked down on because you're a student worker. What is a typical day like for you at the company?Get in, work on some work orders, count some inventory, not a majorly stressful day to day activities.

Good Work place

Worked at WOW program. Great experience, could use better in the job training. Understaffed and staff should get better pay. The best party was getting to know the kids, but overall mentally tiring.

Plus it’s a lot of lazy workersWhat is the work environment and culture like at the company?Barley mixed in some clinics, and the environment is hostile and busyWhat is a typical day like for you at the company?Busy with about 90 pts a day plus 5 providers (with only 11 rooms) and two MA’s bringing in all the patients smh

Caring department

The department I worked for was full of eager, thoughtful, and incredibly intelligent individuals. We looked out for each other. The campus culture was also fun and engaging.

Overall easy work and great atmosphere. Working with the travers and students was fun and I learned a lot from the different teachers. I work at a middle school.

Great Time Off

It's no secret that UA has great time off, but that's about all it has. The pay is criminally low and there are few opportunities to move up because people very rarely leave their positions.

Fun workplace

Met lots of close friends! Had the ability to gain my Instructor certification and the Univeristy was able to guide me through the process and make me feel confident!

Good pay for college kid

It was a fun time for a college kid and it also helped me gain experience in my field. The team is nice and understanding and will cater your schedule to your classes.

Good Place to work. Great culture

Overall a positive work experience. We are not micromanaged and have the freedom to take paid time off when we need it. They are at least making an attempt to allow remote work.

Great School!

I really enjoyed my time at UA. As a student, I found many organizations and leadership opportunities to serve in. The education was also excellent. Today, I hold my BSN and RN license and work at one of the nation's top hospital thanks to God and The Capstone College of Nursing at UA. Forever screaming ROLL TIDE!
