Mid-level administration, in general, lack the aptitude and emotional intelligence to manage effectively. Part of this is due to the ever-increasing importance mid-level administrators place on the higher education graduate degree(s). There's nothing inherently wrong with those degrees, but when they're prized over other degrees for jobs that shouldn't - more... require a higher education degree as an indicator of success, intellectual diversity becomes non-existent. - less
