Administrative Assistant (Current Employee) –  Orono, MEApril 21, 2016
This job came with numerous opportunities and experiences. The typical day at work is simple office duties and public interaction as it is an open office and service lounge. The workload consists of emailing back and forth with different campus members about events, materials, resources, and answering questions. There is paperwork that needs to be printed, faxed, or copied and occasionally a drop in or phone call to respond to. This position has the added responsibilities of creating and hosting events as well as providing all the materials needed for the event. All the co-workers get along and each supports the other to create a clean running and productive environment. The hardest part is just making sure everything has been communicated clearly and that everyone, from staff to campus members, is up to date on all that is going on. The most enjoyable part is being able to meet countless new people and create good connections.
Pros
Flexible hours, time to work on school assignments, constant flow of people
Cons
No heat control and no a/c in the warmer months

Administrative Assistant UMaine (Current Employee) –  Orono, MEJune 12, 2014
I arrive at work usually about 7:22 in the morning. I enjoy the quiet time. I like to leave about 4:15 in the afternoon.
My day is spent helping students, undergrad and graduate. Students may not be able to register for classes so can do it. I keep records for MSW students and keep track of their application process. I keep in touch with each one via email or by phone.
In my job organization is a must! I learn quickly, therefore on the job training has been awesome! I Love this job it is only a temp job. I am looking for a permanent position where I can continue to help people. The company must offer benefits. I work independently, and can multitask. My reward is seeing the results of the job being completed.
Pros
Help people all the time. Great Work environment! Work with Great people!
