Graduate Assistant in Omaha, NE
on October 19, 2022
Certainly GAs don't earn very much, but the culture is great. I learned a lot all the time and my advisors were wonderful. Being involved in academia is awesome. It just doesn't pay well.
Adjunct Professor in Omaha, NE
on October 4, 2022
I love teaching out of the Political Science Department!I have always felt supported by department leadership and full-time professors. The department does an excellent job ensuring that adjunct staff members are able to participate in department functions.
Graduate Research Assistant in Omaha, NE
on October 2, 2022
Wonderful opportunity for graduates looking to gain research experience as well as help pay for tuition expenses. Also provides students with the opportunity to work alongside professors in their field
Teacher's Assistant in Omaha, NE
on September 22, 2022
I had a great time as a graduate assistant. It's a pretty good gig. You get to work directly with professors and see how they work in their field, and interact with students you may not have otherwise. I do wish the department did more to help you find a job afterwards, since the program is only for four semesters.
Camp Counselor in Omaha, NE
on July 25, 2022
You have a lot of work but you spend 8 hours a day with the same group of kids for 5 days so that's a given. Mostly indoors but some outdoor activities based on room you are assigned and occasional outdoor break. If it is your first time working there then you will get a lot less schedule flexibility than if you prove you will come back and work the next year. They prioritize giving pre-existing staff more hours and flexibility. They are only open for 5 weeks out of the summer so you will be forced to work 3 weeks and not more. The weeks you work will be based on your availability and other staffs availability.
