It can take a couple of weeks or more to get hired. First you have to submit your application through their system, which is reviewed by HR, then routed to the department. After the department has the specified required number of applicants, they select the ones to interview and interview them. They then make a recommendation to hire which is forwarded to the dean for approved, then to HR for approval. After all of the approvals are in you are called with a job offer. If you accept you are sent the paperwork to fill out and file with HR and can start working after that.
