The University of Texas at Austin takes pride in academic prestige. This principle is seen in every aspect of the university; seen in the students as well as the knowledgeable faculty.

Nice place for a PhD graduate research assistant
Graduate Research Assistant (Former Employee) –  Austin, TXMay 14, 2018
Relatively low living cost. Graduate student apartment is super cheap and in good condition. Rent is rising quickly though. Also, it takes 2+ years in the waitlist to get in. Even outside the school apartment, overall rent is ok to live on the GRA salary.
Excellent employee insurance benefits.
Terrible parking space for graduate students, unless you wait in the waitlist for a year or so,
