Enjoyed my time at UW. Only issue is the lack of diversity in leadership, particularly great social workers with intersecting identities were passed up.

UW is unmatched when it comes to pay and benefits. It's a relatively nice campus too. You are never far away from an interesting conversation or people. The job I was doing was very laid back and easy. I couldn't believe how much I would get paid for working so easy. However, there is something in the backdrop. Those same people who seem so team-oriented, and friendly will in fact scheme or try to get others in trouble for absolutely no other reason than saying a word they didn't like or just because they are bored. Strange culture.

Beautiful campus and a lot of great people. The libraries are amazing. The work environment can be great but leadership and management in a few schools love their LEAN corporate ideologies of endlessly reinventing processes to the detriment of actual harmony and productivity. Everyone works really hard to institute some unwanted change and then the leadership cycles out, moving on to greener pastures leaving the peasants with mess while the newcomers reinvent the wheel yet again. They seem to have little knowledge or regard for what their staff do and the impact of maintaining such poor compensation. Most of their professional development courses are pretty much useless for professional development outside of the UW and what they do offer is really just basic training for their narrow, complicated yet low paying niche positions.

Low wages for this inflation. Overworked and Underpaid is the constant them there. Would not suggest working there unless you put benefits overpay . Bad coworkers no parking unless you pay 17 bucks a day

Graduate Research Assistant in Seattle, WA

The research experience I gained at UW helped me immensely to get a job. UW also provided ample opportunities to network and prepare for job applications. I also got my first out of college job using UW's career portal.
