The first time I applied to UNM as a new RN grad (with a BSN) I reached out to HR to speak to recruiters and express interest. This literally got me nowhere. I was rejected for many jobs, some I didn't even remember applying for!
Two years later, I put in an application at random and suddenly people were falling over themselves reaching out to me. I feel that if you are not coming with decent experience you really need to know someone or have made a good impression or your resume, application, clinicals, etc.

The hospital has a bargaining union, there is no mandatory overtime unless you are in management and therefore not part of the union negotiations. They almost never census manage employees either but technically it can happen, especially to MAs and techs as opposed to nurses. Typically, unless there are issues with your workflow or your unit, expect to work close to the exact amount of hours you were hired to work unless you offer to work overtime or are in management.
