Clinical Social Worker (Former Employee) – New Mexico – July 9, 2017
Great place to start when you are learning. It's a teaching hospital and you will get a lot of great experience. Good benefits and decent pay. Fast paced and you will work with very dedicated employees.
Working as a Multimedia Assistant as my first part time job in the US was exciting. Typical day at work starts by checking emails and responding to the once that require immediate attention. I explored the creative side of me and sharpened my skills by learning to make creative presentation, Adobe Photoshop and created modules that are learning resources to doctors and principle investigators. UNM hospital has great work culture and respect for all employees.
This job was very stressful with very little compensation or benefits. UNM Hospital is no doubt a great hospital but because of the overwhelming amount of patients and departments there is very little communication between anyone which leaves everyone feeling very frustrated and making this culture barely bearable.
Student Medical Assistant (Former Employee) – Albuquerque, NM – November 5, 2012
Typical day was seeing patients that may have been exposed to pertussis. Many health screens, annual TB test. The co-workers were great. Hardest part of the job for me in the beginning was injections. The most enjoyable part of the job was everything, I learned so much, and still have much more to learn.
