When I was working there, some days weren't bad. The drawback was having to fill in alot for a guy who had been there many years. You never find out how bad and stressful things are until you are into it. My boss had no empathy and you couldn't talk to him one on one to solve anything. I was in housekeeping and people complained all the time even though I worked hard! I would not recommend this particular hospital, not sure how other places are.

I'm verging on burnout. I'm on autopilot to get through the day. I'm drained when I come home. I like my patients — I tolerant my colleagues. Management doesn't exist. You manage yourself.

When I first started, I was excited. This feeling was soon replaced with disappointment. As a former manager, I have witnessed other managers openly bully their subordinates. They claim they are "coaching" these employees. I did not know coaching included yelling at employees for 20 minutes in front of their peers, talking badly about their performance behind their back, alienating them, and treating them like children. No help was offered to these employees only humiliation. If their performance is so bad why not dismiss them instead of keeping them around for what seems to be sadistic amusement. Respect, compassion, understanding, and professionalism goes a long way. Unfortunately, I was shunned by the other managers because I failed to demonstrate these behaviors patterns. I left because this type of behavior seems to be encouraged and I want no parts of it. Telling HR is a joke by the way. They sit on hands when severe issues like this crop up.

I dread coming. The people at this place is horrible. I wish I reviewed some of the comments here sooner because of the ones about the bullying and gossip...My God! So true! So very! Very! True! You do not have said anything to become the topic of office chitchat. If someone does not like you (especially the manager), they will make something up. I have never experienced anything like this.
