Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner/Clinic Director (Former Employee) – Dallas, TX – February 12, 2018
Working as a Nurse Practitioner - Full time was easy going. Compensation was comparative to Dallas job market and job requirement. I was receiving benefits through my spouse's work, so can't say much about their benefits, but other colleague were not impressed by it. Job offers stock options for long term growth with and within the company. Job is very straight forward and not very challenging. This company and job is a perfect place for someone who is looking for stable 9a-5p work place with comparable compensation. I left the company because of the lack of challenge, but I know people who would actually prefer to have non challenging and routine 9a-5p work day. Management is easy going and usually not involved in micromanaging. Managerial role would be a good experience for someone starting out. Clinic is usually run by a mid-level provider and a medical assistant. Ordering supplies can be a hassle because no-one in management is from a medical background and may need convincing as for the reasoning for supplies and orders.
9a-5p work day, routine occupational clinic, management does not believe in micromanagement
benefits, growth potential, managerial duties at the clinic (especially ordering supplies for medical needs)
Nurse Practitioner (Former Employee) – Oklahoma City, OK – November 29, 2017
Walk-in clinic for truckers and their families, and for the public. I obtained my FMSCA license by passing a computerized test. Management was great. The workplace culture was the work was fast paced most of the time, but was also slow paced at times. The hardest part of the job was informing drivers during their DOT physicals that they had diabetes, sometimes with an A1C so high that they could not pass their physical. If their blood pressure was too high to pass, we gave them second and third chances. The most enjoyable part of the job was when the drivers passed their DOT physicals and got their FMSCA card.
Great pay, but awful company to work for. Beware. You will be putting your license on the line. The owner and everyone in management are rude and unprofessional. I do not have anything good to say about this company. There is not any job security. They will fire you without cause or notice. Plus unsafe place to work. No Support.
great upper management and wonderful to work with. I was serving medical and occupational needs of drivers and patients of all ages; diagnose and treat all health conditions commonly seen in Primary Care; Issue DOT Certifications, supervise and perform urine and hair drug screening, breath alcohol tests, and job placement assessments, etc.
