Academic institution with public institution pay

Working at UTSW was fulfilling. Good labs and collaboration. But the pay just is not there. Hourly pay and the paperwork was exhausting. Great benefits. Good coworkers.

Been working in the health care system for 20+ years. By far the best company I have ever worked for. Great teamwork and support from management/leadership.

Bad Management

Benefits and vacation time are really a plus. Management is horrible. Favoritism is horrible. Patient are great. Love working here just wish management was more supportive.

Great leadership development

Pros: The organization has a great leadership development program that strengthens skills and confidence when working in the department. Cons: Some departments desperately need a culture change.

Work culture and team are great, but have to fix a lot problems I have no control over

Team is great and culturally very welcoming and motivating. You complete your own work and do not have to depend on someone else. But often you are blamed for things outside your control or that predate your involvement.

Micro manager

UT is a wonderful place but depending on the team your on within the department is the determining factor on how you will love it. I worked in the oncology research department at the satellite site housed at parkland and the management was such a micro manager that the employees would never stay long. They were always stressed out and you have to constantly keep email source documentation for your protection.

Fast paced environment

I love how it had great benefits for employees the best insurance Working in the hospital it is life consuming definitely but other than that it’s a great place to grow in the medical field

Environment

Work environment is very toxic and turnover rate very high. Job is number driven and not patient care based. Good benefits keep a lot of employees from leaving.

Okay

The hiring and onboarding process was extremely slow and cumbersome . Work culture varies with departments, with some better than others. Otherwise, benefits are good.

Great benefits

Not for new grads. Toxic environment. Clicky. Not team work unless you have “friends.” But it has great benefits. Great parking. You will never miss lunch.

Great place to work

A state institution that is a great starting place for anyone looking to break into the industry. Expect to be low-balled when negotiating salary bit other than that it's solid.

Great place to work

Great place to work, great managers, you receive a lunch break as a registered nurse where at other hospitals you do not usually receive an actual lunch break.

Be positive, productive, and part of the hospital team.

What is the best part of working at the company?Organized, not a mess of do this and do that, there is order and structure to departments and their functions. What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Staying in control of yourself and doing your job. Its a hospital, patients and their needs come first, not your phone and issues. It is work, not a social event. What is the work environment and culture like at the company?I enjoyed it for the most part, a few yahoo's like every job. Overall a solid place to work and participate in the care of others. What is a typical day like for you at the company?Busy and manageable workload. Teamwork is your best asset.
