The work itself was easy, locating is alright but the company had low budget equipment that made the job difficult than what it had to be. A lot of guessing and I hate guessing, u need to be sure. Its good for experience but pay and benefits is to low. Also management turned out to be shady .

From the very first day I was hired the entire company and onboarding process is a joke and full of false promises. They don't care about anything except making money. Upper management doesn't communicate with other managers or HR for that matter. They expect a brand new person to communicate for them since none of them like each other and then fire you when you dont. The trucks are trash they don't clean them but once every 3 months. You'll be recorded the entire time you are driving their truck via drive cam. If you failed a drug test in the last 3 years you can't work here. If you have 4 driving events or 1 accident in 90 days your fired. You get treated like a piece of meat here....But hey the pays good....lol.
Pros
Good pay
Cons
Immature unprofessional management team

If you can't get batteries from your supervisor you will have to buy them. They even charge your paycheck weekly for a truck allowance on gas? Don't expect working equipment. They won't spend money on new equipment, and work you like a dog. Quite often locating mile runs. Don't expect lunches, or breaks.

Pretty decent company. Good starting pay and work truck to take home. Working overtime is voluntary but you are kind looked down on if you don't want to work long hours.
Pros
On your own, work truck to take home
Cons
Long hours, not much room for advancement.

A normal work day would start around 430-5 o'clock am, i would drive my company vehicle to my first job site from there i would clock in and begin to work. Most of the work I did involved me being on my feet for long periods of time and outside in the different weather conditions.

Very good company to work for.
Locator (Former Employee) –  Halethorpe, MDJanuary 15, 2013
A typical day at work was to locate underground utilities. Learned about different types of utilities, and different types of things could happen if not located properly. Management was ok, had a supervisor that yelled all the time, and then try to make amends the next time he saw someone. Never really saw my co-workers unless we were do a ticket or job together, mostly on my own locating. The hardest part of the Job was locating all the utilities on each ticket. Most enjoyable part of the job was having company vehicle and being paid.
Pros
taking half hour lunches or sometimes the contractor would by lunch.
Cons
not enough tickets to locate all the time.

Employer is owned by Diacomm. Around 2005, diacomm was being sued for backwages, so instead of making current employees feel valuable, Diacomm felt the need to impose rule after rule after rule on employees. They say that many of their techniques such as a drive cam are to prevent liablity in case of an accident and protect you, the employee. But use ALL technology to scrutinize the against the employee.
Management is infallible according to Utiliquest and parent co Diacomm. If management makes a mistake they will find a scape goat and its likely you. Management is not reprimanded for discrimination or other unethical decisions, they are promoted.
