If you were in charge, what would you do to make Vacasa a better place to work?
Keep as far away from upper management as possible. GM, Area GM and Region GM are all listen but no action. Follow through is pour at best.
Toxic, the most unethical work place I have ever endured... I was dumbfounded every day by the actions of management, no experience and it was kindergarten ever day.
Remember that your housekeepers are your greatest asset. You call them the heart of the company but continue to marginalize them any chance you get. Marketing Vacasa as a tech company is delusional. Without your housekeepers utilizing your apps they don't mean anything. Vacasa can operate without apps, but without housekeepers your company will not survive. Also think about the huge disparity between your laborers and your office drones. Office workers get free coffee, beer, food, play ping pong, bring their dogs to work AND get breaks. Your housekeepers are out there starving, dehydrated, miss their pets, and don't get a break during their 14 hour grind.
This job consumes your whole life as a housekeeper. Under staffed, overworked, I'm supposed to be part time and I worked 60 hours 2 weeks in a row. No raises so far and only a couple hours away they make 5 dollars more an hour. The only reason most people don't leave is because they don't want their co-workers to have the heavy load.
What is the vacation policy like at Vacasa? How many vacation days do you get per year?
If you are salary it is unlimited (if you can get it approved), if you're hourly, you accrue PTO.
Reviews have been happening once per year for two years (before that, there was nothing). The first year, raises were okay 5-10% (which still did not bring the average pay close to being competitive), but last year, most people saw 0-2% raises, which could mean as little as a $20 increase per month. It was ridiculous and insulting to say the least. If fair compensation is important to you, keep looking.
Email, voicemail and reports from maintenance director and reservation manager. Check door system for exceptions from previous night. Answer questions from accounting. Lunch with owners or guest if requested. Banking and utilities if needed for owners
