Management views contractors as disposable allowing basic employee rights to be violated as long as you are one. Additionally this seems like a huge waste of money for the company

EVERYTHING. The coworkers would leave the register and you by yourself and expect you to do everything. It was horrible. No one would help with the customers. Especially if you're working at night. Or they'd stay in the bathroom for 20-30 minutes.
