As of the first of the year 2019 you can't be sick or have any type of emergency even if you have PTO.
You can have all the vacation time in the world but if you don't schedule vacation or PTO 24 hours in advance it's not excused. If you miss work without scheduling a vacation day you will get a point and they will still take your vacation Makes no sense. Who knows when they're going to be sick? I don't know who makes these policies at Valmont but it's ridiculous.
As of 1/1/19 u will get 24 hrs pto and accrue 80 hrs of vac a year BUT u can only use vac. AND pto if u tell them the day before u need to use it. So if ur kid gets sick before the shift is over and u need to leave and u have personal time it does not matter u will still get a point because u didn’t tell them the day before. It’s absolutely ridiculous and corporate valmont should be ashamed . Valmont has really went downhill the last year . It appears they do not care about their employees . SMDH
You only get a three points system for 90 days them after that if you survive it ,that when the real time an hours kick in
They have a no-fault attendance policy. Meaning if you're sick, is your kids sick, and I mean even has cancer they do not care. Keep in mind this is not the same for office or salary employees shop help are second-class citizens. One point for missing the shift 2 points no call no show. On the seven point termination. You only get 24 hours personal time keep in mind shifts or 12 hours. So that's two days a year. You may have vacation but you have to schedule that 24 hours in advance so if you're going to get sick anytime soon you better let your supervisor know.
24 hours personal time to be used in increments of 2 up to 30 minutes before shift start.

You get 24hrs of personal time after 90 days and on your anniversary date. 40hrs of vacation after six months and it accrues every month.
You only have personal and vacation days. If you're sick use one
