Nurses are expected to travel without any incentives, must work over time to get covid pay, PRN employees are paid more than full time employees, management is unorganized

The problem with vandy is that there are so many young nurses who are very disempowering to new nurses. During my preceptorship as a new grad i felt that I was constantly talked down to. Several of the floors have a toxic work culture due to the “mean girls” attitude that many of the young nurses have. It is very rare to have nurses older than high 20s as your coworker. I will say upper management is great and super supportive, but they are aware of the toxic culture and don’t do much to fix it.

Supportive management team and supervising Pt. Good benefits and carload with good life/work balance. EMR is outdated a bit but good support. Epic system is nice
Research Assistant in Nashville, TN

Overall it’s ok. It can get monotonous at times. Also management can be very disrespectful at times and my current manager is a micromanager who seems to not care about the people he is criticizing. On the plus side the labs seem to be very tight knit
Case Manager/ Utilization Review Management in Nashville-Davidson, TN

Case management dept was the worlds worst, from what I have heard from other nurse friends, the main hospital is no better, from demanding to have a copy of your password to your private off duty social media, to absolutely trolling their employees off the clock activity to then chastise them.... I'd have to be desperate, homeless, and starving before Id apply to work at Vandy
