Tutors are independent contractors and have the freedom to set their own hours, and choose which students to work with.
I have set my own hours that best work around my family, school, and church responsibilites.
Working hours are very flexible at Varsity Tutors. As a tutor, you’re able to decide the day, time, and how many hours you want to work per week. Usually I tutor clients online for about 15 hours a week, but I also have about 15 hours of prep time per week: that is developing lesson plans for each client, finding source information., grading assignments, and responding to emails or texts from current clients or scheduling tutoring sessions for new clients. As a tutor, you can work u to 40 or more hours a week, but I’m a retired teacher and want to work only part time. Since I work part time for the company and still receive benefits and a pension from teaching full time for 35 years, I do not need any benefits from this company. In fact, the extra money I make as a tutor has helped to build my savings.
40 hours per week. You they you can choose but they will ultimately give you the hours you work. 11-8 plus 2 weekends a month.
$15/ hour, most of the time a session last 1.5 hours. I manage my own schedule which is very convenient
Not great. You are told as a remote salesperson that you can choose the hours you want to work-not true at all. You’re given a schedule and expected to work evenings and weekends. This is the sales department! They force you to work Federal holidays as well. And sometimes you are forced to work OT, other times it “isn’t available “.
Primarily evenings and weekends as you are tutoring students when they have time (after school hours).
You set your own hours
40 hours weekly must work every other weekend. Shifts vary throughout the day.
