Management is horrible, pay is horrible, and some doctors/vet techs won’t ever acknowledge you. People gossip/lie to try and get others fired.
Have you worked in an animal hospital before?
Where do you see yourself in a few years time?
Personal questions related to my own background
If you were in charge, what would you do to make VCA Animal Hospitals a better place to work?
Pay employees what they are worth! Fix things that need fixed !!! You have to put in money to make money
Working here feels like I’m back in high school with the amount of hypocrisy, childish, and immature actions/words by coworkers and even management. Management is also a HUGE reason employees stress throughout their shift.
What advice would you give the CEO of VCA Animal Hospitals about how to improve it?
I would say to the CEO’s that they should pay monthly visits unannounced to the company’s. To have meetings with managements on communication and how to treat employees correctly. I would also suggest higher pay for the amount of work we do and to the ones who have years of experience.
How long does it take to get hired from start to finish at VCA Animal Hospitals? What are the steps along the way?
I interviewed for the job a couple days after I applied and was hired in two more. They are always understaffed and the great technicians leave when they find out how horrible management is. Revolving door.
Very basic and not thorough. You are told great things about working there that are all lies. They’ll hire just about anybody.
I would literally rather not work than go to work there. I have bills to pay and children to care for, so that’s the only reason I will get up in the morning and work for 11 tireless hours in the most unorganized and thankless workplace I’ve ever worked at. It breaks my heart how toxic that place has become because I gave my whole life to it.
I feel that it is going to do very well and continue to deliver high quality medicine for their patients.
