A difficult job that can be rewarding for some
Quality Analyst (Current Employee) - Remote - December 6, 2023
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedThis job is not for everyone but if you like a challenge and don't mind putting in the work it can be rewarding and financially lucrative. Pros -Remote work -Monthly incentives -No work experience needed -Mentally challenging Cons -Output expectations can be tough to meet if you don't work OT -Base pay doesn't increase much with experience -Not a lot of upward mobility and managers end up making less than the people they manage because they don't get as many incentives Overall I enjoy working here. It can definitely be stressful at times but after many years I've found a good work/life balance, I enjoy the work, and I feel well compensated. If you are detail oriented, like problem solving, and don't mind being pushed to perform at a high level, you would probably enjoy this work.

Overall, skip this whole company. It’s overrun with vermin from the top down and providers are condescending and rude!
Quality Analyst (Former Employee) - Remote - November 18, 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? There is no best part working there What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Absolutely everything. This company is quota driven and does not care about quality work. Only quantity What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Very toxic. It’s taxing on your mental health. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Stressed out to capacity. So glad not to be there anymore.

Opportunity to work from home
QA Analyst (Former Employee) - Houston, TX - November 14, 2023
I love that there was opportunity to work from home. Being a QA can be repetitive but it's a steady job. The work environment can be stressfully at busy times but overall it's fair.

The experience at VES was overall fun and productive.
Federal Biller (Former Employee) - Houston, TX - August 28, 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? The best part about working at VES was the management and the open line of communication. They always make sure you feel seen and heard and there is no hesitation to talk and work with you should you have any issues to bring forth. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Nothing ever stressed me out on the job. My home life was more stressful than work. The VES office is remarkable What is the work environment and culture like at the company? The culture at VES is very Diverse and inclusive.

Tooo stressful!!!
Quality Analyst (Former Employee) - Remote - August 2, 2023
Stress level is tremendous! Your mental health takes a hit!! The constant micromanaging and the quotas. Even when you hit quota they find something wrong with what you do. I felt like I was set up for failure. Even management said my whole training class had difficulty. So I was playing catch up a lot. I passed my tests in training but a lot of the job is learn as you go. Lots of different situations training doesn’t encounter.
Pros
Helping veterans
Cons
Stress level

Interesting work, not the best work culture
Case Builder (Former Employee) - Remote - June 28, 2023
The work was interesting and I felt I was helping veterans. Training was several months long, well done, and helpful. There was a lot of pressure to meet "numbers" and many people worked overtime to do so. I didn't enjoy being in a culture where overtime was required to meet the basic requirements of my position.

No growth opportunity
Quality Analyst (Former Employee) - Remote - June 21, 2023
I worked for VES for 4 years and there is no such thing as a promotion. No matter how long you've been there or how good you are at your job, there is no real pay raise and now jump in title. If you want to move up you basically have to apply for a new job within the company. Also they constantly change the rules, expectations and quotas ever week and/or month. They send an email out every day which has a ranking system for where QA's are at the end of each day regarding their quota. So you see who is at the top and who is at the bottom. The email is sent to everyone in the department. There's no maternity/paternity leave. It's hard to take time off even if you have the PTO because it can impact your quota. If your quota is 10 reports a day, you basically have to do 30 a day because you are relying on providers to submit them correctly in a reasonable time and if you need diagnostics that can take forever. So you're always waiting on others to complete their portion before you can complete yours. Also, if you submit something to the VA and they send it back with questions it can count against you and you can basically get in trouble even if it is more so on the doctor to make sure they are doing things correctly. I wouldn't recommend this job to any family or friends.

Productive and fun workplace
Scheduler (Current Employee) - Houston, TX - June 20, 2023
You have a lot to learn but once you get to know your area and settle in it gets easier. Very fun and productive you will definitely stay busy in your area. You can be moved depending on needs.

Not worth it
Client Intake Specialist (Former Employee) - Texas - June 14, 2023
You had to be the bad guy who mediates between the veterans and the VA, pretty much. And traveling to different states and paying out of your pocket and waiting weeks for the money to be reimbursed.

no flexibility, micromanaging gets worse by the month
CCA (Current Employee) - Houston, TX - April 21, 2023
it’s absolutely no flexibility so if you have a family good luck. they’ll make you use your pto because “people abuse it” so it’s impossible to save pto hours

Sh*y show becomes reality
N/A (Former Employee) - Houston, TX - March 30, 2023
Merger was one of the most mismanaged and bungled I've ever seen. Awful pay for the lowest and terrible benefits that literally killed someone. Managers extremely distant, no culture after merger and terrible outdated and dysfunctional software. There is little to NO HR on site and they are so new they know nothing.
Pros
Remote work maybe
Cons
Listed above.

Not enough referrals from the VA
Physician (Current Employee) - Charlotte, NC - February 10, 2023
This company is okay to work for. I had never done compensation and pension exams, so I needed training in the training was excellent. For the first five months, I was busy Monday Wednesday and Friday. However, in November I worked one day, two days in December, two days in January and nothing in February. The company is dependent upon referrals from the VA, and when there are not any, you don't get to work. This job should not be your primary source of income
Pros
Excellent support staff
Cons
Not enough work

Cool
CCA (Current Employee) - Houston, TX - December 22, 2022
Loved working with veterans but their management is terrible. So much miscommunication within the company and they treat you like you’re at their disposal.

Very Quota Driven environment
Quality Assurance Analyst (Former Employee) - Remote - December 15, 2022
Great opportunity to help veterans, the pay is descent, the training is critical and job is very rewarding. U can't miss any days of training as it is key to being successful in this position. The trainers at the time I was employed were good, they were approachable and honest. The supervisor I had was horrible, had no type of people skills and did not know how to present material to teach us or duties. Some people do not know how to teach and therefore should not be in such positions of authority as it only hurts the employee in the bigger picture of things. Other teamates basically came together in chat groups and we taught ourselves thru trial and error. The program seems to be awesome I however did not care for certain politics of the position.

Lots of travel, but expensive
Clinical Intake Specialist (Current Employee) - Remote - November 5, 2022
The position is mostly traveling to different clinics across the country. While they do pay for transportation and lodging, you have to pay out of pocket for everything else(gas, luggage, tolls, hotel check in fees, etc). Then it normally takes 2-3 weeks to get reimbursed. The job isn’t difficult, but definitely don’t expect a lot of time at home.
