Organization was poorly managed and mimicked a culture of "the good ole boy network." Coordination of work flow was horrible and management were threatened by new and progressive ideas that would add value to the organization. Survival of the fittest is certain but demonized if you were more fit than a decision maker. Pitiful experience but monopolization of the market, leveraging of local staff and Medicare reimbursements allows organization to stay in business. Similar organizations in competitive markets would fail.
Vidant Health is a great place to work, if you are into politics. It is all in who you know and that is how you get the job and how you advance. Teamwork is preached on a regular basis, but some staff is just so afraid that you will get ahead of them. (I guess that is just the way the cookie crumbles).
