This place was not ran well at all when I worked there. The kids that live there run all over staff and there is nothing they can do to correct this. The school is a joke. There is no teaching. Just kids sitting in a room yelling and cussing at other kids or staff the whole time. The teacher did absolutely nothing! He just sat behind his desk the whole time not attempting to teach or help anyone. There were fights almost daily or a kid would do their regular run where staff has to chase them and put them in a hold. They find this amusing and do it daily for the fun of it. They will even say “I’m going to run” and laugh. There is no real help for kids at this place. The kids run the place and staff just plays along because their is no real punishment for anything the kids do.

The supervisors are young and are more about being a social clique than providing back up. Supervisors date staff that they directly supervise. Work ethic means NOTHING to them. Kids are not fed well and their complaints are not followed up on when it is against favored staff. In the midst of all of this you have to keep 12 teenagers inside a cabin with little to no amenities or back up. Staff is always changing. Not worth the risk.

I have worked at Village Behavioral Health for almost 10 years and it is a tough job. However, the process of helping kids and being a part of their journey makes it worth it!

I've been employed here for four years and the positive growth I've seen is AMAZING! The culture has totally changed (for the better) and our leadership team is helping us thrive. We are truly helping the youth we serve and our staff. We even have an Employee Engagement Committee to enhance our staff support!
