Toxic Management and Culture at Lehigh Valley Hyundai
Sales Consultant (Former Employee) – Emmaus, PA – December 20, 2018
Poor training to get you started in the business: "just read some pamphlets" and then hoping you learn the rest by watching co workers do their job on the daily.
Get yelled at for not knowing how to do things you weren't trained on how to do or if you didn't learn it by the second time around granted they still didn't sit down with you and teach you, it was much easier to just curse you out and let you mess up again in the future.
Everyday was a mental battle between wanting to take up fresh customers on the lot, or letting another co-worker take them JUST so that you wouldn't have to deal with the managers.
Unfortunately the culture there is also a negative one- the veterans trip up the new people and turn on each other half of the time just to get pats on the back from their toxic managers.
The most enjoyable part of the job was leaving it. If you care about someone, don't let them apply to Lehigh Valley Hyundai.
None of the above applies to Vinarts: Honda, Acura, Mercedes, or Certified Used Cars dealerships, the managers there are actually really good people.
Good pay plan and free lunches on Saturdays
Management was toxic and abusive to say the least, workplace culture was just as bad, worst possible place to begin a sales career
