It was great to be able to work and make a little extra money when it worked for me. Time off was easy and lesson planning was a breeze. The only problem was making sure you got booked in order to make money which wasn't too big of a deal but booking became almost nonexistent after China bailed.

The pay is decent but no guarantee you will get bookings. Some students are great to work with but others can be nightmares. If you work in any timezone near the US you'll have graveyard shift

VIP was great to work for. I could set my own hours and the effort that I put in is what I received in compensation. Late in my time there, the compensation rate completely changed and was much lower. The Chinese government also imposed some restrictions and I began to lose clients. Less clients = less income.

The kids are absolutely amazing to work with. This job introduced me to a career I would never have seen myself doing before getting hired by VIPKid. I love this job. The crummy thing is the pay and constant policy changes. The business side of this job is less awesome but the teaching part is absolutely amazing. Also, the hours are not ideal.
