Office Services Specialist (Current Employee) –  Newport News, VADecember 30, 2016
I enjoy meeting/greeting the public and helping other individuals whether it is with our company or outside vendors in pursuing and getting their life back on track.

Entering data into the computer must be done with accuracy and speed. One stroke of a key can send someone life in a down spiral and it will take an act of congress to nullify the process.

Preparing file material in an efficient and profound timeframe and making sure that the Parole Officers have everything they need to do a case opening.

Helping people to get their life back on track

Although the VADOC is a state agency and held to state guidelines, it has made strides in the corrections environment for both employees and offenders.

I found the environment to be very supportive. It has been the best working experience I have had so far in my 25+ years.

Teach Probation and parole officers the new system to upload documents. Talk to the ex-offenders and their family to help move to another state other than Virginia.
The most enjoyable part of the job was a task with satisfaction.
Pros
State Car
