Growing company with lots of potential with still a few things to learn
Remote international luxury travel consultant (Current Employee) –  Wichita Falls, TXAugust 24, 2018
This is a decent company with lots to offer. They are still a young company and though they are growing, they are still learning which sometimes isn't as productive as it could be but we try to work together to make it work.

Working remote is a great benefit that allows some to still have a home life.
Pros
Good benefits

Productive, fun, and innovative workplace
Business Analyst/E-Commerce (Former Employee) –  Fort Worth, TXJanuary 31, 2018
I actually really loved working at Virtuoso. The only reason I left was because of the lack of job advancement and a manager who always took credit for my work. I really liked the corporate culture and the senior leadership of the company. But unfortunately, they were unaware and were being manipulated by the middle manager working there. Regardless, after I left, he was fired. I considered going back to work for them but opportunities took me elsewhere. This company did take good care of its employees. Everyone was family.

Old school company but still a good place to work
Accounting/FInance Specialist (Former Employee) –  Denver, CONovember 2, 2017
Overall the people there are friendly and the backoffice staff is treated well. Only drawback is the lack of ability to telecommute, even part time. The culture is very traditional and not really suitable for the modern era workplace environment. Just a small change in the corporate mindset there to a more modern workplace would do wonders for an already good place to work.
Pros
Friendly people, management allows for autonomy.
Cons
Work culture: too much IBM, not enough Google.

Relaxed, fun
Accounting Generalist (Former Employee) –  Fort Worth, TXJune 14, 2017
The company as a whole is interesting and fun but the systems are archaic. There is a need to access a dozen or more different web-sites and databases to complete a typical day's work. Not to mention the websites needed to access client payment information. And then there is the 'spreadsheet'. This company uses spreadsheets for EVERYTHING--you can't do your job without a spreadsheet because none of their systems "talk" to each other. I sensed an overwhelming sense of importance to every department in the company except finance and accounting. Finance and accounting are short staffed (and not recognized), with no sign of improvement. The accounting team has low morale because the management team is belligerent more often than not. There is also an professional vibe due to people talking about others, calling others rude names behind their backs, and the negative non-verbals deserve a head shake. The hardest part of the job was figuring out which spreadsheet you were supposed to use and where it could be found. The most enjoyable part of the job was responding to client requests for assistance.
Pros
Free healthcare, 25 days PTO, company parties
Cons
Short staffed in some areas, but over staffed in others. There is little to no cross-functional cooperation

Sales Coordinator (Current Employee) –  New York, NYJanuary 15, 2017
Overall, my experience at Virtuoso was a very good one. BUT as the sales coordinator of the largest supplier group, my work load was always overwhelming. They're isn't a balance between departments. Many departments just leave their work to us, and it is very easy for the work to pile up.
Pros
Supplier benefits
Cons
Work load, lack of motivation towards promotion

Many unexpected/unexplained lay-offs , no travel benefits
Prefer not to say (Current Employee) –  Fort WorthJune 11, 2014
Company does not offer travel benefits. Pay is okay. Management changes its mind a lot. CEO yells at his assistants. Company spends thousands of dollars on top 1% upper management and rest of the employees are disregarded.
Unfortunately, one of the female Seattle-based CEOs was fired yet she was the best manager, an excellent public speaker, very charismatic, educated, and very well-respected. How could this happen?
This Fort Worth-based company has 'lay-offs' every 2-3 years always blaming it on the economy, yet in every interview CEO claims how successful they have been since the 80s.
Warning sign of an upcoming lay-off is when the CEO brings in an outside consultant!! Be aware.
CEO seems negligent (or uneducated) about the fact that a company's growth and success is achieved through ALL of its employees and not just the top 1%.
If you just need a paycheck try it out. If not then you are better of working for one of their large suppliers.
Pros
Hoteliers are very prominent people. Friendly HR and employees.
Cons
Lay offs every 2-3 years. No travel benefits.
