COMPUTERIZE DOCUMENTATION. Seriously, people! You are the LARGEST and OLDEST for-profit Hospice in the nation. There is absolutely NO excuse not to have the documentation process computerized.

Middle management is ABSOLUTELY out of touch with field staff and Administration is only concentrated on getting the numbers necessary to go on their annual Mexico vacation. They SOUND empathetic and caring. They. Are. Not. Administration spouts the "mission" and four corporate values but neither live it nor model it. The Administration advances good clinicians who are not leaders or managers and then does not provide the necessary training, mentoring or support. What would I do? Directly address these obvious deficiencies. Only appoint managers who have leadership IQ and provide them with training and mentoring.

Pay a fair wage.!! No raises every yr for cost of living. Employees make same low wage for yrs! Corporation for profit only! Managers don’t care about employees! Understaffed/overworked nurses. Cna and Nurses not valued! Lack of Pt care and lack of respect to employees ,NO MORE CONTINUITY OF CARE! One day here , one day there! Families complaining every day! And! FIRE NURSES THAT SLEEP EVERY NIGHT AND FAMILIES COMPLAIN BUT STILL NURSES WORKING THERE OVER TEN YRS!!! WTH?? Vitas is being ruined by corporate greed!!! Why don’t we ROTO-ROOT THE CORPORATE OFFICE! Not a happy place anymore! Scheduling is a JOKE! Our reputation is in the toilet!! SEEKING OTHER EMPLOYMENT. SUCH A SHAME. WE WERE #1!!!

I would suggest they pay the nurses a better way – and I would also suggest that they show appreciation from top management

The negative comments you read continue to be how the company operates and employees are treated like cattle herds, especially the case managers. The workloads up to 7-8 visits a day and you are up til midnight trying to get the paper charting done. Admissions are starting to be done in such a process that it has become more confusing, and patients are left in a lurch and management tells its case managers to deal with it.

Don't work for Vitas, it is not a fair working environment. They only listen to family complaints, employees will never have a chance to explain.

Get managers that don't bully their staff. Listen to employees side when a family complains. Don't just talk the mission of the company - do it!!! Stop bringing your counterparts from another hospice over. You're ruining Vitas! Start being concerned about our patients again and not the almighty dollar. Quit running the place like a dictatorship. Keep the business mgr. He seems to be the only one who will listen and cares.
