Here is the typical process once an application is submitted: Applications are reviewed by HR and the Hiring Manager. The Hiring Manager decides which candidates they would like to interview and will reach out to those candidates to schedule the interview(s). Candidates may be asked to take a skills assessment in addition to the interview(s). An offer is typically extended once the background check is complete and is contingent upon the candidate successfully passing a drug & nicotine test (TB tests as well for field positions).

It took about 4 to six weeks for me. After the interview, HR does extensive background checks is what takes so long.
I was interviewed in February of 2015 and did not get the final notice of approval until 5 days before my start date.
