Very clicky, favoritism and immature decision making.
Consultant (Former Employee) –  Roseville, CASeptember 8, 2018
My manager was very very rude, and disrespectful. The Roseville leadership team is dysfunctional.

Very clicky, favoritism and immature decision making. Its a job not a career place.

Talked about things, however no follow through. Toxic employees allowed to stay

Poor Leadership, bad training
Consultant (Current Employee) –  Centennial, COSeptember 7, 2018
Very limited to no training being done. Unless you have 20+ years of experience, they don't care about you. Horrible compensation and no upward movement within the company.

good company. outstanding Manager. Vizient is not taking advantage of good Contractors. Not offering contract to hire options and losing on good trained people.

My manager was very very rude, and disrespectful. The Roseville leadership team is dysfunctional and I was warned about them when I got hired from 4 different people. Very clicky, favoritism and immature decision making. Its a job not a career place.

Project Manager (Current Employee) –  Chicago, ILAugust 2, 2018
Merger is far from over - political territorial battles. Luckily for them, they basically have a monopoly and older good products. Don't plan on a work/life balance nor smiling - its frowned upon.

Great work life balance but lacks sense of urgency
MARKETING DIRECTOR (Former Employee) –  Irving, TXJuly 16, 2018
Great work life balance but lacks sense of urgency. Lower pay, but well worth the balance.
There are ALOT of 'good old boys' who are well protected. Free soda.

Great company
Business Analysis (Former Employee) –  Denver, COJuly 12, 2018
Nothing to add at this time. It was a great company to work for. The only change was placing a manager over our Spend Department whom we had to train rather than hiring from within.

Does not value employees -they are just a number and replaceable
Manager (Former Employee) –  Irving, TXJune 1, 2018
Employees are treated with no respect from senior leaders
Everyone is just a number and replaceable
Small open cubes
Like high school - very "clicky"
Too many departments competing against each other

Nice Pay
Great Benefits
Just put in place a good telecommute policy but wouldn't be surprised to see it taken away at any time

A productive workplace with excellent teamwork
Temp Contractor/Revenue Control Analyst (Current Employee) –  Cape Girardeau, MOMay 14, 2018
This has been a great experience working here and has improved my skills at working with Excel as well as other programs. It's also been a great opportunity to work in a team setting and has allowed me to work with others to achieve deadlines and other goals.
Pros
Overtime during certain times of the month and being allowed to leave early other times.
Cons
Lack of communication at times

I love Vizient and what it stands for. There are a lot of opportunities to work in different areas. The company really cares about the employees. I would recommend to others for jobs.

If you enjoy corporate inertia...
Management (Current Employee) –  RemoteApril 22, 2018
For the longest time the legacy organizations were action-oriented and member-driven organizations. Ever since the merger and the incorporation of new leaders, the company has become a hot-bed of talking heads who are more interested in political image than actually doing work.

If you want to work for an organization where HR forces management into a distribution band for annual reviews, then this is the place for you! If you want to work for an organization where your performance rating is not based on performance, but rather how others perceive you (in a cut-throat environment), then Vizient is the place for you!

The culture has turned sour and everyone knows the source of that culture.
Pros
Good pay, flexible hours
Cons
Weakening benefits, political cut-throat culture

One of the best company to work for in a dysfunctional industry
Senior Analyst - Strategic Accounts (Former Employee) –  Irving, TXJanuary 30, 2018
Group Purchasing Organization collect legal kickbacks from Medical manufacturer and share with Hospitals along very convoluted incentive systems. The better customer you are the more money back you get. Hard to really help or incentivize hospitals to participate outside of volumes.

Poor leadership
Portfolio Executive / Lead Negotiator (Former Employee) –  Plano, TXJanuary 29, 2018
Poor leadership and culture. Lack of customer engagement, no accountability by leadership to retain customers and this allows senior leadership to dictate personal objectives without question due to gap in link between impact to customer and leadership directives.
Cons
Poor senior leadership in sourcing.

Agile Software Development with Poor Management
Senior APEX Software Developer (Former Employee) –  Irving, TXJanuary 28, 2018
Company seems earnestly to embrace Agile methodologies but then breaks the model by assigning arbitrary deadlines. Focus and priorities are constantly being shifted around. The company is the product of multiple mergers and the culture has not yet gelled into a single entity.
Collaboration within the Scrum teams is generally positive.
Expectations about cross-training among software developers and domain experts are unrealistic, especially with the major deadlines constantly looming.
Training is mostly self-taught, again due to deadlines and availability.
Pros
Bonuses, monthly birthday treats, occasional happy hours
Cons
Unrealistic expectations and poor direct management.
