Other Experience (Current Employee) – New York, NY – March 31, 2019
Vroom is a company with a lot of potential. However, the current leadership doesn't inspire or motivate it's employees. The culture is non-existent and not comparable to other startups. In addition, the benefits and compensation are not anything to write home about.
N/A (Current Employee) – New York, NY – July 15, 2019
The culture is a bit of a downer - no energy, scarce gatherings, teams feel disconnected with little cross-team collaboration. Salary is slightly above market average but the benefits are very average, maybe a bit below. No 401k matching, average time-off policy. Stocked kitchen which is nice but is cleared after the first day or two because of how many people are in the office. No clear path of growth and poor management. Job was described differently than actuality. A bunch of the people are cool but with such a wide tech market, this falls very low on the spectrum. Outside of the new hire orientation where they describe the company values, I haven't seen any of the values actually in action.
Wonderful work environment with excellent benefits. You are encouraged to take your vacations. You have paid time off, sick leave, floating hours. All Federal holidays are paid, whether you are scheduled off or not.
