What advice would you give the CEO of Vulcan Materials Company about how to improve it?
All directions now more so come from the top down. Listen to the people with boots on the ground performing tasks to keep the company moving material. Recent changes are impacting the hourly employee's making jobs more difficult. Safety had gone down due to pressure to perform more work In less time with more paperwork with no more employees then in past years. The overall moral is also down. People just show up for a paycheck. Things used to be different. Managers used to be seasoned employees who started from the bottom up with invaluable experience in operation and maintenance practices. Now just pencil pushes with attitudes. We need great leadership to run a great company.
How long does it take to get hired from start to finish at Vulcan Materials Company? What are the steps along the way?
It takes 3 months or more. It’s a terrible place to work. A lot of the ppl who have been there for 10-30 yrs it’s like a little gang among the company. If they don’t like the smallest thing about u, ur not even considered.
