1,386 questions about working at Walgreens
There are a handful of reasons to do leave, to name a few. Low wage is probably one of the reasons for sure. I have been working at Walgreens for over four years, and every year I was consistently getting a good performance review for annual raise, yet I am still getting paid the same rate as any newly hired as we speak. Lack of labor hours more work needs to complete. Ungrateful and entitled customers, while most customers weren't like that, but there are always a few of those customers that they think just because they are the customers, so they are always right, and no one can tell them what to do such as following store policy to wear a mask during an ongoing pandemic.

There are yearly reviews, which determine yearly raises. I’ve always earned great reviews, but the yearly raise is minimal. After I put in my notice (for MANY reasons), I found out some store managers are starting at a higher rate than I’m leaving the company at after 7 years. Maybe you’ll be the lucky ones…or you’ll do more for less.

Adding the experience to a resume in order to use Walgreens as nothing more than a stepping stone to something better. Walgreens is not the end all be all.

Starting pay is 11.50. Some areas are starting techs at a lot higher due to staffing issues. Unfortunately, that doesn’t mean current techs will receive a pay increase to make fair pay.

Expect to be bombarded with emails relating to metrics and performance daily. Metrics are more important than accuracy as long is there is no STARS event. Emails from supervisors and leads questioning your personal life and family matters that could be related to you performance issues. Tech pay is low leading to high turnovers and little help. Metrics are a top concern from the time you arrive at work until you leave. The environment is incredibly toxic and stressful.

Guarenteed 40 hrs for shift leaders. They don't allow any sort of overtime at all though, not even one minute over.
