85 questions about working at Walgreens
If you have something in your background check, it goes to HR and it can become pending until whenever they get to it. Store Manager can expedite the process after 10 business days. You could wait a very long time. So if you have a criminal record or if you've been arraigned, it could take a while. Otherwise 3 business days from when it was submitted and 1-2 days for the manager to get the clear. Generally, overall a week.

Does Walgreens hire felons?
Asked July 25, 2017
Offered in July 2021, but didn’t clear the background check. My 7 yr old Federal felony didn’t show, but being on the covered (S) offender registry did appear, which seemed to disqualify me. I was allowed to dispute findings within 5 days, but not opportunity to provide any further info or support documents, like at Home Depot or Lowe’s, who used the same 3rd party company. I applied for Inventory Associate. (In-store job).

From my understanding, the drug test and background check are one time process in the recruitment procedure. But if any team member seeking to level up within the store they working at, it's best to speak with your manager.
