Each locations break policy has to abide by the local/State laws. If you're not getting a break or someone is not paying you for any amount of time you are working for any business or company of any size it's your responsibility to know the labor laws in your area. In Tennessee you will be allowed an unpaid 30 min break if you are scheduled for 6 hours work and 2 paid 15 minute breaks with an 8 hour shift after 4 hours you have earned a 15 min paid break as well. However if you're not working over 3hrs and 59 min you will not be able to get a break at all. You are responsible if you are knowingly working without pay or not taking breaks. If afraid to approach the leader on duty you always have the ethics line or HR to make a report. Trust the system, it will be investigated and you will be repaid for any reported time that is justly confirmed unpaid work off the clock/time card. You can search your labor laws online very easily!
Business should be going as usual with internet modifications to certain questions.
1 30-minute lunch break. While being the only person available to work the cash register most days, I hardly ever got my 10 minute breaks. Lunches are unpaid.
I can’t speak for all stores but we didn’t receive breaks just a 30 minute no. Paid lunch. If you work in the front of the store you get two 15 minute paid breaks and one unpaid lunch . Unjustly right?
I never get lunch break during the day but store manager take time of on my timecard.
That is the truth!!!
Floor CSA get all 2x 15 min & 1 30min lunch. Leadership dont take breaks if they dont want to. You are more than welcome to take them but ur not clocked out.
8hours lunch breaks are un paid
What breaks? As a shift lead you are told "you don't get breaks" that you are to be available on the floor at all times mostly if you are the closing manager. You can walk away for 5 mins if lucky yet you better be ready to run to the stores rescue at a moments notice. If you don't take a lunch before day shift manager leaves you simply don't get a lunch. So..no breaks at all. Walgreens is a horrible company to work for. Your life doesn't matter..literally. Armed robberies don't even make them think twice about their employees. You've been warned!
The shifts can widely vary depending on the store and when you are needed. You do get a 30 min. lunch break but depending on the store is depending if you also get two 15 min. breaks or not. The breaks are unpaid. Don't ever worry about working more than 40 hours a week because they don't allow any overtime.
Your shifts are different lengths on different days, but at my store no matter how long you are scheduled for you get one 30 minute lunch break. I had to work 9.5 hours today and I clocked out for my one 30 min lunch. There are no 15 minute breaks at my store.
