What is the best part of working at Walgreens?
What we love most about Walgreens is the size and scale of the organization. You can find endless opportunities locally with our nearly 9,000 retail locations. At the support center level, the work you do helps support our stores and make impacts on the communities we serve.Asked November 23, 2019

If you were to leave Walgreens, what would be the reason?
There is no work/life balance for store managers in today's environment. As a manager, you have to cover every call-out and crisis. Every other associate can plan a vacation and let you know what dates, but as a manager you have to work around everyone else. No one supports our level of management. The District manager can plan their time of with another District manager "covering". I was lucky to have a supportive staff to allow me vacation time in the past but due to Covid and the fact that people simply do not want to work in a retail environment, that has changed. My fellow store managers are in the same situation. Everybody is tired and there is no incentive to give extra because we don't get paid to work extra. Honestly I would work extra to help another struggling if I got paid for it. Walgreens simply doesn't care if Store Managers are happy and have a life outside of work. There is no plan in place to help us with this.Asked March 15, 2017

How much and how often is a raise at Walgreens?
There are yearly reviews, which determine yearly raises. I’ve always earned great reviews, but the yearly raise is minimal. After I put in my notice (for MANY reasons), I found out some store managers are starting at a higher rate than I’m leaving the company at after 7 years. Maybe you’ll be the lucky ones…or you’ll do more for less.Asked June 12, 2016

What is a typical day like for you at Walgreens?
There are a lot of tasks and not enough hours in a day (or just in general honestly) to complete them. While stressful, it makes the day go by quickly. You are constantly on the run from one end of the store to the other between opening bathrooms, grabbing second register, attending to photo, and if you are management, grabbing cash calls and customer issues. Within pharmacy, the phones are constantly ringing, there is no end to the phone calls. If you like to stay busy, this job is fantastic. Unfortunately, it is also retail. You will have coworkers who don't run, and leave a lot of it on your shoulders.Asked March 15, 2020
