Each locations break policy has to abide by the local/State laws. If you're not getting a break or someone is not paying you for any amount of time you are working for any business or company of any size it's your responsibility to know the labor laws in your area. In Tennessee you will be allowed an unpaid 30 min break if you are scheduled for 6 hours work and 2 paid 15 minute breaks with an 8 hour shift after 4 hours you have earned a 15 min paid break as well. However if you're not working over 3hrs and 59 min you will not be able to get a break at all. You are responsible if you are knowingly working without pay or not taking breaks. If afraid to approach the leader on duty you always have the ethics line or HR to make a report. Trust the system, it will be investigated and you will be repaid for any reported time that is justly confirmed unpaid work off the clock/time card.
