Alot to say about Walker, the pay is great, all the overtime in the world, double time on Sundays, however it's unsafe and dirty, especially in production, some managers are nice, some are literally so high one eye will be closed within the first 2 hours of the shift change

Chaos

Training that you’ll learn nothing from, ask two people the same questions you’ll get very different answers, management seems like they have no clue and your told to ask questions but once you do your treated as a burden. 6-7 mandatory days a week. Pay is nice and no end to overtime but zero work life balance so get used to it and do t complain about it, you’ve been warned.

Not a very good place to work

The management could care less about you. They work you non stop 6 to 7 days a week management say the weekends will stop when people stop calling out or we get more people to make production, but it’s hard not to call out when being over worked and they have no problem with firing anyone no matter how short handed or desperate we are for help. If you put your two weeks notice in I’ve been told they’ll tell you to just go ahead and leave. The management is clueless of what they’re doing and how to run the business. They have a point system in place you get 8 points and if you receive a point it takes 3 months with no absences to remove one point. Work/Life balance is nonexistent just be prepared to work every weekend while management gets to be at home with family and tell you, you’re the problem and reason for all the overtime. Also you get one 20 minute break for lunch and one 10 minute break. If you like to live at work this is the place for you

Pros

Not much

Cons

Short Breaks, Careless management, Lots of overtime

Bad company

Terrible place to work at. Management picks favorites. You have no life with all the overtime. Definitely would recommend working some where else. If you like to work 24/7 then this is a job for you

Pros

None

Cons

Everything. Hardly no days off. Treated terrible. If you kiss butt that's the only way to move up

Don't do it! Unless..

If you are desperate and need to keep the checks rolling in by all means walker is the place to go. If you are wanting a fulfilling career and all that goes with it look elsewhere! Favoritism runs rampant here, the people that are in the higher positions and getting the major promotions are the ones that play golf with the boss, if that tells you anything. There is room for advancement, but I often found myself having to haggle with my boss about getting fair pay for the extra responsibility. You may be expected to do several people's jobs for no extra pay.If you like day shift, you can have it after about 20 years if your lucky. In the meantime you will be on 2nd or 3rd.There is no job security here. They have engineers performing manual labor because nobody wants to work here. They have been known to change job titles and cut pay with little to no warning. People with 20 years experience that have worked their way up the ladder have been reduced to assembly line workers.Having said that, I was always paid on time. You have been warned.

Good money but no life

It’s good money but it’s mandatory 6 days a week. They work there good workers to death while the lazy ones just stand around. Worse place I have ever worked. Management is a joke

I enjoy working at Walker Die Casting it is a wonderful place to work the management is very helpful and my hours are flexible within reason.

It starts off busy ends the same way, I work at my own pace and it keeps me fulfilled. I couldn't ask for a more enjoyable place to work or people to work with.

Pros

Great people and a wonderful environment to work in.

Decent job.

Company has been firing people who have worked there for years. Company has been bought out and is being restructured. Was let go because of past from 24 years ago.

its a good work enviroment the supervisors are lazy there.

to be honest.it was a good job,you get all the overtime you can ask for.the supervisor I worked for was lazy and sometimes messed up with my pay due to adding my overtime hours weekly.thats ultimately my reason for putting in my leave.

I am trying to find work closer to home.

I have worked at this job for about 24 years.I have learned how to over see fellow employees. How to train employees. How to use a scanner to put up stock and move it.have learned how to do paperwork.load and unloading trucks.I like meeting the truck drivers that come in.most stressful part is needing to load trucks and having to wait on the other part of the plant to get them to you in a timely manner.

Department head sucked but is no longer there

Challenging, interesting work on multi - axis horizontals. Local kids seem to want to learn. Close tolerance work. Very demanding, high precision, and enjoyable. State-of-the-art equipment

Production working on a line with

Having to stay in a constant motion in heat with very hot parts, Trimming them, Checking for holes, cracks, or broken seals, sanding them down making sure all parts leave walker die casting perfect

Slow death. Maddness over and over.

Hot. Hot and smokey. Oil everywhere. There was darkness and mystery. Machine parts swinging throughout the factory. Molten metal sprayed randomly over your body.

Walker die casting

Walker is a good company need better management and should pay more it's very busy having to do your job as well as others and not getting paid enough

Strong body, weak mind

If you desperately need a job try it out. Don't work yourself to death either because they don't appreciate it. Just want you there everyday with no opinions and the boss's don't show respect to employees. Good luck to everyone but nichirin was a better company to work for.
